Eliot Goldfinger and Wilhelm Ellenberger's books on animal anatomy, combined with veterinary anatomy books and CT scans, were used as reference.
I chose a Weimaraner as they're very similar to the Vizsla, which are the breed used in Goldfinger and Ellenberger's books, to hopefully make it easier for anyone learning anatomy!

Sculpted in Zbrush, the body was retopologised in Maya using the Quad Draw tool, and the muscles and bones were ZRemeshed.
All textures were hand-painted in Substance Painter.
Rendered in Maya using Arnold.
